Online Japanese / Mandarin Chinese Courses

Have you ever heard people say things like below?

"Oh, in order to learn to speak a foreign language, you must have a special talent."

"You have to start when you are still little."

"You need to go where the language is spoken and immerse yourself in the language for at least OO years!" etc.

Hi, thanks for visiting my site. I'm Mitch. I'm a freelance foreign language instructor and this is the site for my online language school.

When I first started learning a foreign language, I was 12 years old, and it was English. I'm about 40 years old, and back when I was a school child, the majority of kids started studying English as a school subject in the first grade of the junior high school for the first time, and I was one of them. So, I wasn't particularly good at English or I didn't start learning English when I was little. I was just an ordinary sport-loving kid. Now I teach languages including English to Japanese speakers, but when I was younger, I wanted to be a comedian or a magician. So, I could have never imagined that I would become a language instructor now.

However, after I graduated from my senior high school, my father's friend helped me and I was able to get into a university in the US. It was a kind of boom to study abroad among Japanese people back then, so I was very excited about it. But soon, I realized that the reality was much harsher than I imagined.

As you can guess, if you go to the United States, almost everything is in English; TV, radio, street signs, things written on the snack packages, literally everything! I was very excited about being in the US for the first month, but after one month had passed, I constantly suffered from homesickness and stress caused by my disability to  understand English or communicate in English. For example, I go into a shop, a cashier says something to me and I don't understand a word she says. Watch TV, and people laugh, but I don't understand why people are laughing. Or I say something and people laugh at me and I don't understand why. Everything was horrible.

But then, after taking an intensive English program that my university offered, my college life, my life in the US completely changed. Later, I found out that the university I went to was famous for its TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) program, and the intensive English courses were offered by professors and graduate students of the TESOL program.

The way they taught English was, at least for me at the time, as an ordinal Japanese kid who grew up in the Japanese education system, unbelievably interesting, effective, and evolutional. Then, I thought "I want to be one of them. I want to be someone who teaches a foreign language that interestingly, entertainingly yet effectively!" So, I decided to take the TESOL program after I finished my bachelor's program.

Learning a foreign language can be very difficult and frustrating, and it sometimes takes a long long time to achieve a communicative level. However, with proper methods, you will be able to start communicating in that language relatively soon, even within a year! And the best part is that no matter how old you are, no matter who you are, you will be able to speak a foreign language.

So, why don't we start now!

Let me help you make your dream come true, the dream of

"Being able to express yourself in a foreign language freely!"

"Becoming a bilingual or multilingual!"

The courses are available for both Mandarin Chinese and Japanese.
